Together with the Antwerp Town Council, we are giving the Scheldt Quays a radical facelift over a distance of more than 5 kilometres. This is necessary because the quay wall is in bad condition, and the quays flood when there is a storm tide. The condition of the quay wall is not the same along the entire length of the quays, though. That is why it has been subdivided into seven zones. A specific stabilisation technique is applied in each zone, depending on the condition of the quay wall in that zone. Finally, as icing on the cake, the city will transform the quays into a fun, recreational spot by the water.
